VMware ESXi アップデート手順（4.0 → 4.1u1）

概要†

ESXi 4.0→4.1へのアップデートはvSphere CLIを使用する。
4.0に付属するGUIのHostUpdateツールでは対応できないため、4.0用のvSphere CLIをインストールした上で作業を行う必要がある。

手順†

1. vSphere Clientを使用してESXiをメンテナンスモードに変更

2. vSphere CLIを起動してアップデートを実行

vihostupdate.pl --server [IPアドレス] -i -b upgrade-from-esxi4.0-to-4.1-update01-348481.zip
Enter username: root
Enter password:

Please wait patch installation is in progress ...
The update completed successfully, but the system needs to be  rebooted for the changes to be effective.

3. インストール結果を確認

vihostupdate.pl --server [IPアドレス] --query
Enter username: root
Enter password:
