logrotateの動作試験方法。

• d引数を付けることにより、実際にはローテーションを行わずに動作を確認することができる。
  

• 書式

  logrorate -dv /etc/logrotate.d/[設定ファイル]

• 実行例

  # logrotate -dv /etc/logrotate.d/httpd 
  reading config file /etc/logrotate.d/httpd
  reading config info for /var/log/httpd/*.log 
  
  Handling 1 logs
  
  rotating pattern: /var/log/httpd/*.log
  monthly (24  rotations) 
  empty log files are rotated, old logs are removed
  considering log /var/log/httpd/access.log
    log does not need rotating

一度もローテーションが行われていない場合には以下のメッセージが表示される。

not running postrotate script, since no logs were rotated
